Membership
Membership is open to any individual interested
in anything related to Gerard Manley Hopkins. All members are entitled
to a copy of Hopkins Research each calendar year free of postage.
Individual members have the right to be invited to contribute articles
to the Bulletin, though articles may be solicited from non-members under
special circumstances. The annual membership fee is 4,000 yen (or it's
equivalent in foreign currency). The general secretary deals with matters
relating to admission into the society and payment of membership dues; and
the editor with submission of manuscripts andother matters concerning
Hopkins Research. There are currently 72 members.

Hopkins Research
This is the bulletin of The Hopkins Society of
Japan,Tokyo Area, and has been published annually since 1972. The Editor-in-Chief
is Professor Peter Milward. Annual subscriptions to Hopkins Research
for for non-members residing in Japan are: 900 yen for institutions and
500 yen for undividuals; for those in other countries, US $2.75 and US$1.50,
respectively, or the foreign currency equivalent. Annual subscription fees
should be sent to the Executive Secretary at the Hopkins Secretariate address.
Though all members have the right to be invited to contribute articles to the Bulletin, articles may be solicited from non-members under special circumstances. Manuscripts submitted to Hopkins Research should follow the form set forth in the MLA style Sheet, 2nd edition. The editors reserve the right to adapt, curtail, or reject.
If return of manuscripts is desired, a stamped
address envelope should be included. The editors assume no responsibility
for loss of manuscripts that are returned. Contributors should therefore
keep in their hands copies of the latest version of their manuscripts.
Articles should be limited in length to a maximum
of 15 typescript pages. Each page
should contain 20 double-spaced lines, 6 to
7 inches long. Exceptions to this rule are the first page, where there
should be 16 lines, and the last page, which may end a few lines short
of the normal length. Footnotes should be kept to a minimum consistent
with good scholarship.

editorial matters, subscriptions and orders for back issues of Hopkins
Research should be sent to the Hopkins Secretariate address
listed above.
